Overview
Fudan University is a comprehensive public research university in Shanghai and a member of China's C9 League. International applicants can choose from a broad range of Chinese-taught undergraduate programmes across humanities, social sciences, economics, management, science, engineering, and medicine.
Most undergraduate programmes are taught in Chinese. Fudan also offers a small number of English-taught undergraduate programmes with separate admissions notices and requirements.

Applicants for Chinese-taught programmes must take the Chinese version of CSCA. HSK is not mandatory, but Fudan lists HSK Level 5 with 210+ or HSK Level 6 with 180+ if submitted. Interviews for Chinese-taught programmes also assess your ability to communicate in Chinese.

Applicants whose native language is not English must provide an accepted English language qualification: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90, DET 110, or PTE 61. Students whose main high-school courses were taught in English may be exempt, subject to Fudan's review.

CSCA is required for all international undergraduate applicants to Fudan. Applicants must submit a valid original score report.

From testing to arrival
Application process
- 1Choose your programme
Confirm whether you are applying through the main Chinese-taught application or an English-taught degree with a separate admissions notice.
- 2Check requirements
Review the teaching language, academic background, CSCA subjects, language scores, tuition, duration, and course-specific conditions.
- 3Complete the required tests
Take CSCA in the correct language and subject combination, and arrange English testing for an English-taught degree unless an exemption applies.
- 4Prepare your documents
Collect your personal statement, recommendations, academic results, passport, language and CSCA results, and any required financial or nationality documents.
- 5Submit your application
Register in Fudan's international student system, complete the online application, upload the required materials, and pay the RMB 800 fee.
- 6Receive your decision
Applicants who meet the requirements may be invited to interview. If pre-admitted, pay first-year tuition within two weeks and follow the decision instructions.
- 7Visa and registration
Use the formal admission documents to prepare your visa, insurance, housing, arrival, and university registration.
