Where you may live

Accommodation

University housing

Campus dormitories

ZJU accommodation depends on campus, programme, room type, and availability. If offered, it is usually the simplest first-year option because it keeps classes and campus services easier to reach.

Best for
First-year students who want a simpler arrival process and a campus-based routine
Plan for
Campus location, booking window, room type, price, and whether housing is included in your offer or scholarship
Private arrangement

Off-campus rental

Private rental is the main backup if university housing is unavailable, and it can also suit students who want more independence in Hangzhou.

Best for
Students who cannot secure university accommodation or want more flexibility than a dormitory
Plan for
Commute time, deposit, contract terms, local registration, utilities, and upfront setup costs

Treat university housing as your first option if offered, but prepare a private housing backup before arrival.
